Quantum named a new CEO

Quantum, the historical leader in secondary storage, just shook its exec team and Jaimie Lerner, Chairman, CEO and President since 2018, is replaced by Hugues Meyrath. Is it a surprise? Not from a revenue perspective as Quantum has serious difficulties to convert its software shift in real dollars. Thew lat quater just ass $72M. Jaime Lerner has made a massive work pushing the company to build new software and operates as a ISV. We saw Myriad, the new ActiveScale Object Storage following the acquisition from Western Digital and other initiatives especially around cold storage. To accelerate this software move, the team has acquired CatDV, Atavium, as mentioned above the ActiveScale asset, Enclouden, Pivot3 or SHI. We'll follow what Meyrath will do and if Quantum is on the market for a sale.
