STEC arrive chez WDC

sTec, a leader in enterprise solid state disk, is acquired by Western Digital for $340M, exactly by HGST (Hitachi Global Storage Technologies), acquired by WDC in 2011 for $3.4B. The idea is to consolidate the Ultrastar SSD portfolio. WDC and Seagate continue to expand their SDD/Flash line as they play traditionally in HDD. Globally US play in HDD and APAC companies play in Flash/SSD, funny right.
