Arcitecta and Spectra Logic join force

Arcitecta and Spectra Logic, just announced a joint solution around 

secondary storage covering file and object storage. In fact it is Arcitecta Mediaflux coupled with BlackPearl NAS or BlackPearl S3. From a Arcitecta point of view, the global namespace is exposed and in the back-end one of several scale-up BlackPearl NAS are connected to finally build a scale-out NAS solution targeting secondary storage oriented use cases. The announcement claiming to deliver high performance scale-out NAS was exaggerated as it invites the user to think that the solution can compete with top full flash NAS. And of course it is not as the solution is dedicated for secondary usage. Same approach with BlackPearl S3 to build potentially multi-site S3 environment. We'll see how these solutions will be adopted in the coming months. It appears to be key for Arcitecta adoption but on the Spectra Logic side, they partner with any software being a universal secondary storage target.
