Quantum introduced a full flash ActiveScale

Quantum, the champion of secondary storage, continues to maximize its ActiveScale acquisition. The software arrived in 2020 for just $2M from Western Digital even if HGST has spent $270M in a cash transaction in 2015 from Amplidata.

The new product iteration, the Z200, relies on 1U chassis running the new software able to be clustered with a minimum of 3 nodes and 460TB capacity. The solution is able to support hot, warm and cold data supporting Myriad but also tape libraries being a real core element in the data flow.

The recent case study from Amidata (with 2 more letters mp it will be Amplidata, funny right?) in Australia, illustrates perfectly some capabilities with data distribution over 3 sites for better resiliency and quality of services for remote users.
