The second element in common with Nebulon is our connection with their executives as we met several of them in the past, Craig Nunes, CMO at Datrium at that time, and now co-founder and COO at Nebulon.
The root of the company and the project come from the recognition that corporate data centers can learn from cloud players and especially gorillas to really scale their on-premises services and infrastructure.
The key philosophy is the cloud operating model and AWS illustrated below is a perfect example to get inspired from. How AWS offers transparent global management through a comprehensive console, automate tasks, offload enterprises data services and leverage standard machine images.
Nebulon goal is exactly this, to provide to enterprise the capability to manage their DC like a hyperscaler cloud does it. Each element of AWS above can be translated into Nebulon with Nebulon ON Console, Nebulon SPU & OS and Nebulon machine images. And Nebulon offers in a SaaS mode, available for several server vendors with specific system images.
But the mission is clearly no simple with several IT challenges masked by the cloud. It explains also why cloud adoption took off easily as it is so easy to start, deploy, operate and maintain. I tis not the case for on-premises environments.
It is the motivation behind Nebulon smartInfrastructure, available from several server vendors. The team has developed smartOps, smartData and smartInstances to stay aligned with hyperscaler cloud model.
Nebulon adds different use cases with VMware and Kubernetes but also edge or IaaS for CSPs to align its offering with the market demand. As a pure channel model, Nebulon product line is sold by Dell, HPE, Lenovo and Supermicro to facilitate integration and Craig's team has introduce a partner program to accelerate market penetration and secure strategic partners. More news soon as the company clearly accelerate in the current "post-Covid" period.
