Auwau develops an universal backup control center

Auwau, a Danish company founded in 2016, joined The IT Press Tour in London early April. It was the opportunity to learn more about their Cloutility backup management tool dedicated to MSPs and IT departments from its CEO, Thomas Bak.

The company is super small with 3 people but with an interesting expertise around API integration with backup or other data management software.

Auwau product is named Cloudility and is an on-premise web-based software solution for backup-as-a-service. The product develops a secure multi-tenant engine providing a central dashboard integrated with IBM Storage Protect, IBM Defender, IBM Cloud Object Storage, Rubrik, Cohesity and PoINT archival Gateway. The team is working on-demand with integrators, ISVs and MSPs justifying a business case. Approximately 3 weeks are needed for coupling Cloudility and we learnt that some new integrations are coming soon.

The product runs on Windows and requires a SQL Server instance and supports specific backup vendor and S3 APIs. It works as a meta control center over various data protection solutions already listed. The approach is really multi-tenant with the notion of hierarchy with a fine-grain user role control.

In terms of business, the annual turnover is below €1 million which is very good with the profile of the company. Oem is clearly a direction and Thomas Bak is looking for new partners to accelerate on the backup product covered.
